Matt Bellamy wants Richard Branson to put him in outer space

The Muse frontman thinks it would be "cool" for the band to record a song on a space flight.

In the wake of the launch of NASA’s last ever space shuttle mission, Muse fronman Matt Bellamy has revealed to Contactmusic that he thinks it would be a great idea for the alternative rock band to record a song whilst in space.

Bellamy is fishing for support from entrepreneur Richard Branson, who is working on a scheme called “Virgin Galactic”, which will be the first commercial spaceship airline. The falsetto star has stated “We’re trying to blag a free trip on it [Virgin Galactic]. I’m going to try to convince Richard Branson to let us make a music video or record a song up there. I think that would be cool. Would I be scared? I think I’ll be alright.”

Here’s hoping they don’t get sucked into a Supermassive Black Hole.

Muse will be headlining the Reading and Leeds festivals in August.
