Tri Angle's Lindsay Lohan tribute 'Let Me Shine For You' gets physical release

Tri Angle will release album of reinterpreted Lindsay Lohan's songs by the likes of Oneohtrix Point Never, Laurel Halo, Autre Ne Veut, oOoOO, Babe Rainbow, and Stalker from last year.

Before putting out debut releases for Balam Acab , oOoOO , How To Dress Well , Holy Other and Clams Casino , Tri Angle set themselves up as a label in mid 2010 by conceiving and distributing an online-only album dedicated to Lindsay Lohan, convincing synth fetishists like Oneohtrix Point Never , Laurel Halo , Autre Ne Veut , oOoOO, and Babe Rainbow to reinterpret Lohan’s songs. The New York label will, for the first time ever, issue ‘Let Me Shine For You’ in physical form (100 CD-Rs and 10 cassette tapes) with all profits from the release being donated to the Japanese Red Cross in aid of the tsunami crisis. ‘Let Me Shine For You’ will be available exclusively at Independent Label Market on Berwick Street in London this Saturday (21st May, 2011); while a number of copies are reserved by Tri Angle, which will be sold separately on the label’s website next week for its relaunch. In Tri Angle’s words, the concept of ‘Let Me Shine For You’ is: “Inspired in part by Lindsay Lohan’s grotesquely fascinating black hole existence and in part by my unwavering belief in the power of pop music as an artform, I saw an opportunity to create something interesting with her music, and decided to ask some friends to reinterpret some of Lindsay’s songs. ‘Tri Angle Records Presents: Let Me Shine for You’ is the result. Even though we are all fond of Lindsay in our own ways, there is no FREE LINDSAY agenda here. We all love pop music and this is merely an experiment. All of our intentions are very sincere.”
