AlunaGeorge - Attracting Flies

Without over-simplifying things, AlunaGeorge’s new video for Attracting Flies is similar to Joe Cornish’s film Attack The Block – if you switch up aliens for the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. Starting with a filmic shot of a block of flats mocked up as a classic Disney castle, you might be able to guess where things go next: Aluna dons a hoodie as Little Red Riding Hood, lets her braids flow as Rapunzel, has a pill instead of a solitary pea lodged under a pile of mattresses and battles depression as Sleeping Beauty. Watch out for the don’t-try-this-at-home twist on javelined knights as blade-carrying motorbike racers whizzing down a deserted car park.

Island will release the Attracting Flies single on the 10th March, and ‘Body Music’ on 1st July.
