Watch: LEGO Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus comes equipped with interactive features

If the submission for the idea reaches 10,000 supporters, it may be made into an official LEGO set...

A LEGO version of Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus, which was submitted to the brand’s Ideas platform last month, has been made into a reality. A new video put together by its creator, Tamás Borján, shows off some of the fun interactive features that has got both the LEGO and electronic music communities talking.

The set contains 2628 pieces and features several playable features: a USB stick can be placed in and out of the socket; the tempo fader can be adjusted; and a CD can be placed inside and also ejected using the eject button.

The design also comes with two individual LED panels. On one panel the waveform can be adjusted with the jogwheel, just like on a real turntable, and on the other panel music tracks can be scrolled through using the knob.

Tamás Borján originally proposed the build on LEGO’s Ideas platform, a website that allows users to submit ideas for LEGO products to be turned into potential sets available commercially, with the original designer receiving 1% of the royalties.

“This new-age classic piece plays a significant role in the life of clubs and parties,” reads the build’s official blurb. “DJs are playing the best music on this, mixing the songs together with great precision.”

If the submission for the idea reaches 10,000 supporters, it may be made into an official LEGO set. At the time of writing, the submission has 3,291 supporters. Show your support for the idea here.
