Alis - I Miss You (Björk Cover)

In Sabina Plamenova’s recent interview here at Dummy, she spoke about being emphasising her vocals and taking the time to go back to earlier influences for her new solo project Alis. Her latest song, a take of Björk’s 1997 single I Miss You uploaded to her Youtube, definitively ticks both boxes. The shapely cover keeps the mystery and bounce of the original but its heart lays in pop – with Alis’s lovelorn plea coasting over a beat of playful percussion and thick bass.
