Amateur Best - In Time

In a previous life, Joe Flory aka Amateur Best was known as Primary 1, a man responsible for a lot of wonderful, multi-coloured pop music, not to mention plenty of cover versions. His sound was always quite big, which it still is with Amateur Best, but in a somewhat different vein – whereas many Primary 1 tracks were about bombast, In Time is more about build and release. Minimal verses building up to gigantic, energetic choruses, before drifting back to where it started – and it works fantastically.

Double Denim will release Amateur Best’s debut album ‘No Thrills’ on February 4th.
