Julian Roy Pulls On Our Heartstrings With 'friends first'
Singer-songwriter and producer Julian Roy has shared the first taste of his upcoming album, 'friends first', by releasing its title track.
The new single, 'friends first', combines elements of modern R&B with indie-pop, packaged together in a stripped-back singer-songwriter package. It's about the joy in taking things slow in a relationship and choosing to be friends first, allowing each other time for deep trust and playfulness, ultimately creating more solid foundations longer term.
Roy's debut LP was inspired by his own lived experiences and travels. Instilled with an innate passion for travel, Roy has experienced the island life of South East Asia and South America as well as living with musical communities in Nashville, San Francisco, and now Los Angeles. As testament to this nomadic way of life, 'friends first' was recorded across three continents, taking Roy to Norway, Colombia, and the USA.
