The Freestylers & Dub Pistols Ride the 'Ska Train' On New Collab
Two titans of the UK electronic scene - The Freestylers and Dub Pistols - have joined forces for the euphoric new single 'Ska Train' feat. JA13. The track marks the first taste of their forthcoming joint album 'Enter The Sound,' arriving in March 2026.
A celebration of rhythm, unity, and pure feel-good energy, 'Ska Train' fuses classic two-tone bounce with modern electronic flair. Featuring contributions from reggae production duo JA13 (Richard Drury and Keith Finch) and the legendary Derrick Morgan - widely credited as one of ska’s original architects - the single radiates joy from the first beat.
“Think we took the train back to Skaville for this — such bouncy happy vibes,” says Aston Harvey of The Freestylers. “Very classic in its style but done in a modern way. We wanted to catch that two-tone element with a joyous, uplifting celebration.”
'Ska Train' showcases the undeniable chemistry between two of electronic music’s longest-running innovators.
Their upcoming collaborative LP 'Enter The Sound' promises a full journey through the pair’s shared influences - from reggae and ska to hip-hop, breaks, and jungle - with guest appearances from Tippa Irie, General Levy, Jonny Osborne, Horseman, Belle Humble, and more.
With 'Ska Train,' The Freestylers and Dub Pistols remind us that after nearly three decades, the beat still rolls on - louder, brighter, and more united than ever.
'Ska Train' is out now via Cyclone Records.
