The Haxan Cloak shares 'Fire Temple' from Midsommar score
Bobby Krlic, aka The Haxan Cloak has composed the full soundtrack to the upcoming Ari Aster-directed horror movie Midsommar, which releases in UK cinemas on 5 July.
‘Fire Temple’ marks the first of twelve tracks that will feature in the film and is nine minutes of calming zephyr-like strings, building into a crescendo of glorious madness. Towards the end of the track, the tempered nature of the track morphs into a much more sinister sound before quickly returning to normal – jogging the brain to the horror-based purpose of the music.
“Trying to live up to the expectations of a director who wrote the script to my music was an intimidating task,” Krlic said, “but in the end I believe it’s been the most rewarding and deeply educational experience I’ve ever had. Not only was working with Ari Aster an honour, but the work was a true collaboration.”
