Aphex Twin shares message about losing his father and warns about governmental control

"When you are held under house arrest, when no crime has been committed, you are living in a police state and it is no longer a democracy."

The bio of user18081971 on Soundcloud, largely believed to be Aphex Twin, has been updated with a message about his father passing away.

Clarifying that it was not Covid-19-related, he sends condolences “to anyone grieving right now,” before going on to make a statement warning people about excessive governmental control during the pandemic.

“You must demand whether the figures reflect people who have died WITH C19 or FROM C19,” he writes.

Richard D James’s dad worked as a coal miner, psychiatric nurse and councillor and, along with his mum, wife and kids, featured on Aphex’s album ‘Syro’.

Aphex shared some more information about his father in the comments section of Soundcloud: “He was the best dad I could’ve ever wished to have had. He had incredible encyclopedic knowledge of so many subjects, he blew my mind constantly and my sisters…tears..”

“We were very lucky to have had a dad like that.”

“Thank you to everyone for your comforting words, your lovely you lot,” he wrote in another comment.

‘Huge heartfelt condolences to anyone grieving right now, I lost my father recently and it’s been really tough, it was not related to C19.

When you are presented with C19 statistics, you must demand whether the figures reflect people who have died WITH C19 or FROM C19
Please do not forget this.

When police carry out wishes from government, without any law being in place, you are living in a police state and it is no longer a democracy.
When you are held under house arrest, when no crime has been committed, you are living in a police state and it is no longer a democracy.
You didn’t think this could happen did you?
Do you know what rights you could lose next, can you guess?

You have been warned.’

UPDATE (02/04/19): The post has now been deleted from Soundcloud, but can be found here.

Another comment he’s written to a Soundcloud user reveals a heartwarming story about his parents: “I have nice stories about them at gigs, here’s one, My M&D drove to a gig of mine in Bristol [Thekla], stopped on the way to ask 2 lads if they knew the way, they said, ‘yeah were going there’, so my dad said ‘oh get in, we’ll give you a lift’ [he used to give hitchhikers lifts a lot anyway] and when the lads were in the backseat, they saw the AFX logo my mum had put on the dashboard, my mum said they looked confused, like why two old people would have that in their car, so they asked ‘sorry, but why do you you have that logo? ‘, my mum said ‘because he’s our son!’, ‘Son!’ they replied ‘he’s our god!’ my dad used to love to tell that story..”
