Bloc Party return?

Following constant speculation as to whether Bloc Party were ever going to return, lead guitarist Russell Lissack has seemingly confirmed such rumours via Twitter.

On the 22nd August Lissack, who has also toured with Ash, tweeted: ‘On my way to Manhattan to meet up with 3 old friends…’. With frontman Kele Okereke and drummer Matt Tong already residing in the US, it seems likely that Bloc Party are recording, or at least thinking musically again.

Yesterday Russell also tweeted a blurred picture [above] of a drummer with the caption ‘Wow, this mysterious guy can really play!’. On closer inspection the individual appears to be the aforementioned Matt Tong – the playful nature of the guitarist’s internet activity suggests that a long-awaited return by the band is to be made in the near future.
