Doja Cat calls her previous two albums "cash grabs," announces next one

"Now i can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones..."

Doja Cat has had some firm words to say about her previous two albums on social media. She has also revealed the new title for her forthcoming project.

The rapper took to Twitter on Tuesday (May 9) to say that her two previous albums, 'Planet Her' and 'Hot Pink', were “cash-grabs” and that fans had fallen for it. “now i can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while yall weep for mediocre pop,” she wrote in a tweet.

In a follow-up tweet, Doja Cat additionally announced the title of her upcoming album: “its called “First of All” and yes I’m announcing the album title right now."

In April, Doja Cat revealed that her new album will be rap-based because she’s no longer interested in pop.

The singer has been playing around with completely changing her musical style, telling Variety in a recent interview, "I want to explore punk. But not pop-punk. I feel like we have enough pop-punk artists right now. And if there needs to be more, then let there be more, but I don’t think I’m the one to do it."

She continued on to explain, "I want to explore more of a raw, unfiltered, hardcore punk sort of thing. It’s just something that I’m doing for my own personal fun — getting some drummers and guitarists together. And I don’t even know if that’s gonna make it out there."
