Kraftwerk will play eight gigs at the Tate Modern next year

The German techno pioneers will play eight of their studio albums in full at the former power station in February.

Kraftwerk have announced that they are bringing their ’1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8’ tour to London in February. The group have already performed the series in New York and Dusseldorf, which saw them play eight albums from their back catalogue, including classic releases such as ‘Autobahn’, ‘Trans Europe Express’ and ‘Computer World’.

Speaking on why the Tate Modern was a ideal space for these performances, director Chris Dercon said:

“As a former power station, Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall is an ideal venue for Kraftwerk’s explorations of technology, energy and rhythm. Bringing together music, video and performance, these events will be true gesamtkunstwerk – a total work of art.”

Tickets for the events go on sale on Wednesday December 12 and will be available here, although they won’t come cheap at £60 a go.

The series offers the chance to hear these original LPs in full, and in an illuminating live setting. The full series of planned events are listed below:
