Lana Del Rey - Young & Beautiful

The eminently remixable popstar has shared her contribution to Baz Luhrman's 'The Great Gatsby' soundtrack.

Here’s Lana Del Rey’s contribution to the Jay Z-curated soundtrack for Baz Luhrman’s forthcoming adaptation of ‘The Great Gatsby’. Last bothering these pages with a sparse and rather lovely take on Leonard Cohen’s Chelsea Hotel No. 2, Young & Beautiful has Lana applying some familiarly decadent widescreen violins and timpani-style drum rolls. “Will you still love me when I’m no longer beautiful?”, she urges, with that half-passive, half-impassioned delivery. For anyone who’s seen five seconds of the trailer for ‘The Great Gatsby,’ Lana was certainly a shoe-in to appear on the soundtrack ahead of the likes of will.i.am and Nero, and Young & Beautiful does just what you might expect it to, and does that very well. Stream the original – and the arguably superior ‘DH Orchestral’ version – below.

Polydor will release ‘Music From Baz Luhrmann’s Film The Great Gatsby’ on the 6th May.
