NOISE Initiative Aims to Make London the Capital of Music Discovery
The NOISE initiative, launching 8th November, is set to transform London into a vibrant hub of music exploration. By tackling challenges facing grassroots musicians, audiences, and venues, NOISE hopes to amplify emerging talent and foster a stronger connection between artists and audiences. Supported by Roland and endorsed by the Mayor of London’s "London Creates" campaign, the initiative aims to create a cultural shift in the way new music is discovered.
The initiative comprises three core elements: NOISE events, WIP (Work In Progress) sessions, and the NOISE Petition. NOISE events combine live music, interactive experiences, and open jam sessions, inviting both musicians and fans into a unique environment celebrating London’s underground music. The WIP sessions provide a space for artists to refine their work, engage with new listeners, and collaborate with other creatives in an accessible setting.
Aimed at democratising music access, the NOISE Petition promotes “pay-it-forward” ticketing, making it easier for audiences to experience live music, regardless of financial constraints. In addition, What Does Not, the agency behind NOISE, is reaching out to iconic musicians with open letters to draw attention to the challenges of today’s music industry, calling for support from figures like Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney.
The first NOISE showcase will take place at The Ministry, with future events planned to engage more audiences and artists across the city, redefining London’s grassroots music scene.
