Thousands attended an electronic music festival in Wuhan last week
Images have emerged from an electronic music festival at a water park last weekend in Wuhan, the city at the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.
Wuhan Maya Beach Water Park, owned by Wuhan Happy Valley theme park, hosted an electronic music festival on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August, where thousands of partygoers gathered to watch a DJ without face masks or any semblance of social distancing.
Wuhan lifted its 76-day lockdown in April, and the park reopened in June as the city gradually opened up.
Meanwhile, things in Europe remain very different, with social distancing proving troublesome for official events organisers and, as a result, illegal parties springing up. In the UK it was announced that the police will be given powers to issue fines of up to £10,000 to organisers of illegal raves.
The future of festivals in the UK also currently looks uncertain, as Michael Eavis recently stated he was unsure whether Glastonbury could return in 2021.
