Miami's Ultra becomes first major festival to cancel due to Coronavirus fears

Flume, Boys Noize and Carl Cox had all been scheduled to play

Miami music festival Ultra will not go ahead this year, due to fears around the spread of Coronavirus at densely-populated events.

Organisers of the electronic dance festival, founded in 1999, met with Miami’s elected leaders and decided to postpone Ultra for up to a year, cancelling the event due to run March 20-22.

Flume, Boys Noize, Carl Cox, Amelie Lens and more had been scheduled to play.

Tomorrowland Winter has also been cancelled due to the spread of COVID-19, which was due to run from March 14-21 in Alpe d’Huez, France.

Last week northern Italy shut a host of venues with towns being put into lockdown and many more parties and events all across Asia have also been axed in wake of the virus.
