Joey Fatts ft. Vince Staples - Lindo

Joey Fatts and Vince Staples have made a video for Lindo – a guitar-licked track made for driving slowly in cars. The pair are in a group called Cutthroat Boyz, who use the hallmarks of West Coast gangsta rap but do it with a bare-faced economy (best captured by Staples as “Honda Civics and chopped bricks”) and can be heard here reeling off matter-of-fact consequences of drug-dealing and violence in flat, drawling tones. Just as the Earl Sweatshirt verse on Frank Ocean’s Super Rich Kids was a dead-eyed narrative about the vacuity of the spoilt teenagers in Beverly Hills, this is the flip view from the hungry gang bangers down in Long Beach.
