Mole Drops Debut Single, 'No Typos'

An introduction to the rising rapper and his unconventional sound

South West London newcomer, Mole, is not one to take things at face value. On his debut single, the rising artist queries prescriptions and doctor diagnoses, rapping: "Think about it for a second… / Doctors telling us that we depressed / And we accepting that to be our ending / Why can’t we change it?”

With 'No Typos', Mole invites his listeners to question the world we live in, and the powers that be. Rather than handing over our fate to others, Mole asks why we cannot instead look within when considering our emotions and actions. It's an introspective approach to lyricism that is surely indicative of future releases.

The production of 'No Typos' takes a similar route of unconventionality, forming a refreshingly off-kilter sound that challenges what we might expect of an Underground Rap track.

The music video, directed by WilkoVision, follows Mole wake up, champagne bottle in hand, at 11:11, known as a significant time for an event to occur in numerology. Springing into action, he concocts a glowing pink potion over the stove, which he then consumes from a bowl like soup. It's not long before his head explodes; a connection with the theme of the track, which advises against taking unnatural medications. Other shots capture Mole talking on a retro telephone, then cutting to night time, where he dons a camouflage hooded jacket, perching on scaffolding and rapping to camera.

This may be the first we've heard of Mole, but it certainly won't be the last. With a presence like this, there's no doubt he'll make a splash.
