Artists these days are sometimes too self-conscious for their own good, which is why such a clear star as Tyson is so refreshing. Apart from the fact that the tattooed artist appears to display none of the big-coiffured razzle-dazzle of your Princes or George Michaels of the past, his vibrato voice and jerky dance floor tracks do. Hence, the album title ‘Die on the Dancefloor’ is more than an appropriate title for his fourth album, out February 20th on Backyard. Featuring a set of shamelessly flamboyant tracks tailored to the discotheque and delivered by this elusive and slightly scary visage, Tyson keeps the focus where it matters – the music.
