Win a DJ set on Arcadia's Afterburner stage
Arcadia are offering an aspiring DJ the chance to perform on their Afterburner stage at this year’s Valley Fest.
To get involved in the competition, entries will need to submit a mix (via Soundcloud or Mixcloud) of no longer than 40 minutes, along with a track list.
They will be judged on both “ability to mix” and “choice of tunes to create the mood”. The winning DJ's set will take place in the early-evening, so the judges of the competition have stressed that it “isn’t about playing bangers, it’s a warm-the-weekend up slot.”
Arcadia was founded by creative engineers Bert Cole and Pip Rush, both inspired by nature and driven to unite people for positive change. Incubated at Glastonbury Festival, Arcadia draws on talent from across the arts, theatre and circus disciplines, supporting cultural celebrations and iconic music festivals around the globe.
The Afterburner is a 360 degree dance arena featuring a DJ booth constructed from a jet engine and radiating dance platforms for the surrounding audience. Fully rigged with lights, fire and an incredible ambisonic sound-system, it has toured the worlds best festivals from Glastonbury to Ultra and Burning man.
Other than Glastonbury, Bristol’s Valley Fest is the only other place in the UK to experience the world-famous performance-art collective this year.
The deadline for submissions is June 5th 2023. Entries must be over 18.
